16 Months

Wow is it really the end of July?? Where is time going?  Today Colter is 16 months and growing!!  He had his 15 month well-visit on Friday (yes a little delayed) and weighed in at 25.4 pounds(just about 50%) and was 30.5 inches(75%).  His pediatrician was very impressed by his language skills and happy to see him walking all around.  He was very much himself at the appointment and making his Dr. laugh.  His right foot still turns in at the toes a bit.  We are going to keep an eye on it and re assess at his 18 month appt.  If it is still a problem we will return to the orthopedist.  As a PT I am happy with his walking at this point because he is very functional and getting more stable daily!! 

Speaking of walking thats all he does now...pretty much never crawls!  He is now able to get up in the middle of the floor and wants to walk all the time.  He loves walking around outside the house!  This month we were in NJ for some time and have been doing some fun summer activities around home too.  Colter loves it when the weather is nice and he can spend a good part of his day outside!!  He still loves his water table, bubbles, and his wagon!  He continues to nap once a day and now lets me know he needs a nap and will happily walk back to his crib.   He also excitedly walks to the bathroom to brush his teeth at night and stands on a bench at the sink to get his teeth brushed.  I have started dropping him at the nursery at the gym where I work out and he likes it there a lot!!  His favorite time of the day is when Jarrod comes home and he squeals "Daddyyyyy"!!  He is on the go all the time and I cannot take my eyes off of him or he is climbing something!  He says new words daily!  His eating just recently got much better and he is getting much less picky...thanks a lot to ketchup for that (he loves anything in ketchup!!).   Here are a few recent pics and below them are his skills at this time.

This months skills:
* Colter is walking walking walking and running!!  He can get up in the middle of the floor by himself and climbs everything!!

*Current favorite books are 5 little monkeys and Brown bear...he loves flipping through books!

*Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is still his go to TV show and makes his smile and laugh

*Colters words are: Mama, Dada, hi, bye, Emba, Yay, Balloon, Ball, Round, Brown Bear, Nanny, Pawpaw(for both grandpas), No, Uh Oh, One, Duck, See, Teeth, Cookie, Go, Shoe, Side(for outside), Bubble, truck, star, Dog, Mickey, Pluto, Wow, Whoa (that's all I can think of at this time!)

*He can say the animal sounds for dog, duck, bird, lion, owl, cow, sheep, and monkey

*Colter still loves anything to do with music and will sing words to songs at the right time

*Current favorite toys continue to be blocks, balls, and cars
