19 Months

Here we go again...another month gone by.  My little man is 19 months and growing.  We finally had his 18 month well check at the drs last week.  Colter weighs in at 26 lbs 12 oz (50%) and 33 1/2 inches (75%).  His pediatrician said he is doing great in all areas and said he is "very advanced" in his language skills.  He has recently begun spelling his name and counting to 10 and did both for her!

This month has been busy enjoying the nice fall weather and doing some fun activities.  We went on a hayride and picked a pumpkin!!  And we are all ready for Halloween this Thursday!!  Colter has been loving Kirby and just laughs hysterically playing with him!  He continues to love to be outside and just walking around and climbing his playset to slide.  He has begun with separation anxiety again when being dropped off places but calms quickly.  The screaming at bedtime has ceased...thank God!!  Colter has discovered a new favorite TV show...Team Umizoomi...he loves that its all about numbers!!  He now always chooses it over Mickey which is big!!!!

Today on his 19 month bday Colter had to go to the dermatologist to have a vascular growth on his finger removed.  He had a lot of small hemangionas when he was little and this one grew into what they call a pyoric granuloma.  It is just a collection of blood vessels but it bleeds like crazy and because of it being on his finger it gets opened a lot and its a mess!!  The original plan after our appt two weeks ago was to laser it to stop the bleeding but it has changed since then and they decided this morning to remove it.  They had the dr and three other people come in to hold Colter down(they don't want parents restraining so child doesn't associate you with pain!)...I had to leave the room in tears and Jarrod stayed and talked to Colter.  They held him on his tummy and first gave him a numbing shot, then snipped it off and then cautherized the area.  Ugh it was terrible listening to him wail but it was not a long process and part of his screaming was he doesn't like being held down!!  I went right in when they finished and he got in my arms and calmed very quickly.  He was a little cranky after but some advil and a nap helped.  Now we watch it and pray it doesn't grow back...what a way to celebrate 19 months!!

Below are some pictures from the month and below that his monthly stats:

This months skills:
* Colter climbs everything and anything...he loves when we go to stores and we let him walk around...he walks and giggles through the aisles.

*Colters words are: too many to keep track of...he says new ones daily!!
