Kirby

Our family has grown by 4 feet (or I should say paws)...Last weekend my parents brought their 6 month puppy Kirby to come live with us for good.  They love Kirby but soon they will start travelling back and forth to Florida and they know that not fair to Kirby.  So he is ours but will be visiting NJ often...he and my Dad are very close!!

Kirby is an Australian Labradoodle...also known as a mini ladradoodle...so he will only be about 25 lbs at full grown!  He also does not shed!!  YAY!!  He was born on 4/6/13 and came to my parents in the end of June...you probably remember pics of him and Maggie(my sisters puppy).  Kirby recently underwent intensive training with an awesome trainer Beth and she really helped him with not jumping, sitting and staying as well as walking on a leash very nicely!!  She has been great to help me with any questions for his transition too!

I was most nervous about how Emma would handle a new puppy...She is not always fond of other dogs.  Amazingly she has been excellent...I think she surprised us all.  She pretty much ignores him and once or twice has growled when he got in her space but that's normal!!  Kirby LOVES Emma!
Colter sometimes gets annoyed with the hyper puppy but truly thinks Kirby is great!  When we go for walks and run into someone he points to Kirby and says "bebe" (his name for him).  He loves watching us throw a ball and Kirby chase it!

Life has certainly gotten crazier for me since Kirby came....its hectic at times but he is really a great dog and we are figuring out our schedules etc!!  I know it will be great to have Kirby as a pet for Colter growing up and he is quite the cuddler as well.  Here are a few pictures from our first week together!
